Flip Gordon Reveals That Marty Scurll Has Something Special Plannned For ROH

Flip Gordon, who has been with ROH since 2017, recently spoke to Wrestling Inc about a few topics related to Ring of Honor. Gordon recently earned a shot at the ROH World Heavyweight title after winning a Battle Royal and is a member of Scurll’s stable, Villain Enterprises. Unfortunately, ROH decided to cancel all upcoming shows throughout the spring during the coronavirus for the safety of fans and employees, so Flip never had the chance to challenge RUSH for his title shot. Flip thinks he can defeat RUSH when they return, however:

“I can take a beating. You saw it – I took 10 lashes from Bully. I’ve been in hardcore matches, ladder matches and I’m a very tough individual. I’ve got a lot of heart and passion. I’ve lost the last several opportunities at the ROH gold and it’s slowed my momentum a lot. I can’t afford that to happen anymore and I won’t let it happen anymore. So, once we’re able to come back, I’m coming back swinging and fighting because I want to be ROH World Champion. I want to represent the best wrestling company on the plane.”

Flip also mentioned that Marty Scurll has something special in mind for ROH’s return, but if you’re wanting to know what it is, we’ve got some bad news:

“We’re just waiting on the precautions. Obviously, it’s different state-to-state right now. But Marty is very good at thinking on the fly and he’s got something very special planned that I think a lot of people are gonna love. I don’t wanna give away too much because it’s not my baby to give away.”

He doesn’t dismiss the idea of Villain Enterprises feuding with AEW’s Elite, but:

“I think that’s something that everybody thinks would be kinda special, myself included. But I haven’t heard anything. Obviously, there’s teases out there but don’t believe everything you see. But never say never as anything can happen in wrestling.”

Marty Scurll, who leads the Villain Enterprises, was a member of the Elite before they went their separate ways in 2019. Since then, Scurll has made random appearances on AEW’s YouTube show Being the Elite. People have speculated that ROH and AEW will be doing business together sooner than later now with Scurll having so much control in ROH as Lead Writer.
