As noted on Tuesday night at this link, Impact Wrestling on AXS TV featured a promo for the July 18 Slammiversary pay-per-view which included a “breaking news” segment with shots of recently released WWE Superstars, apparently teasing them for the event – EC3, Rockstar Spud (Drake Maverick), Curt Hawkins, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Eric Young, Mike and Maria Kanellis, and a Bulgarian flag for Rusev.
The news reporter featured in the teaser video is Jon Burton, who works for WTVF-TV NewsChannel5 in Nashville, Tennessee. Burton is the sports anchor for the channel, and a former pro wrestler. Burton has been teasing more updates on the Impact teaser in the coming weeks on his Twitter account, as seen below.
He tweeted, “I’ll have some more updates in the coming weeks! BIG things happening at @IMPACTWRESTLING STAY TUNED!!!”
