During last night’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDdown, referee Danilo Anfibio went down with an injury during the Lacey Evans and Sonya Deville matchup, with female official Jessika Carr replacing Anfibio coming back from commercial.
According to PW Insider, Anfibio was not actually hurt during the matchup and the injury angle was a work. Reports are that it was designed to lead to a unique and different type of cliffhanger going into the commercial break. Evans would pick up the victory in the bout after nailing Deville with the Women’s Right.
