Jake Roberts recently talked about a wide range of topics on his Snake Pit podcast.

During it, the WWE Hall of Famer discussed the work of Roddy Piper, Sean Waltman, and more. Here are the highlights:

On Roddy Piper:

“I love Roddy. Man in the ring, he could be hard to deal with in the ring. Well, he just had some things he wouldn’t let happen. Maybe it’s kind of funny that [Hulk] Hogan beating him wasn’t going to happen. Anybody beating him wasn’t going to happen. That’s just to me, that’s just wrong. If you can beat whoever and now you can’t turn around and do the same thing for them. He’s wrong. That’s just one example. Outside the ring. Love him to death, man. Only had the traveling with Roddy experience for three days one time. And it was an experience. Because Jake was a bad boy back then. We went from San Diego to someplace. I don’t know, man, but we hadn’t slept in two days.”

On doing interviews with Gene Okerlund:

“Gene treated me really, really good. The reason is that he was terrified of the snake. So I told him in the very beginning, ‘I give you my word. The snake will get close to you, but it will never touch you unless he pulled some silly s**t on me. And if you pull some silly s**t on me, you can count on the snake being on you all over you. Got it? Got it.’ And never f**ked with me.”

On Sean Waltman:

“I loved his work. Good character. He worked hard. I was surprised [with Waltman’s work], but it worked. Always fighting from underneath. Trying to hold on, trying to hold on, and then get that quick. One. Two, three.”
