AEW superstar Kenny Omega took to Twitter earlier today to comment on last year’s AEW Fyter Fest show, which featured a gimmick matchup between Michael Nakazawa and popular video-game promoter Alex Jebailey. The bout, which took place on the pre-show, was highly criticized by fans for it’s silliness, but was well-received by the live crowd in at the event.
Omega calls the matchup one of his favorite memories from AEW’s first year, stating that the live crowd’s reaction one of the most genuine throughout the entire show. He writes, “I wrote that (and Fyter show) down as my fav AEW memory before the end of 2019.Parrot the bitter “purists” all you want,but then take a look at the live house during the match.There was more genuine excitement/happiness during Nak/Jeb than many matches awarded 4*’s and up. Legit.”
Nakazawa would end up winning the bout in just under 10 minutes.
