WWE superstar Kevin Owens released the following video statement on his Twitter wishing fans of the WWE Universe a happy WrestleMania weekend. The former Universal champion expresses that everyone is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in their own way, but hopes that the hard work of the WWE locker room can provide a serviceable distraction.
Hey guys it’s WrestleMania weekend. Tonight’s the first night and obviously it’s happening in circumstances that nobody would have expected it to. I just wanted to say that as we’re all going through this…everybody’s obviously going through some really hard stuff in their own way. Everybody’s dealing with this in their own way. While it’s hard to get excited about anything right now…I think I can speak for everyone that was involved when I say that we hope what we did for WrestleMania brings everyone who watches some small sense of comfort and release, and some entertainment to try and get this stuff out of our minds. I can speak for myself and many of my peers when I say that we really gave it out all. Everybody from the crew, the production, the performers, really hopes that you guys enjoy this.
Owens then reveals that he ran into long-time friend/rival Sami Zayn while running to the grocery store for supplies. He says, “And if that doesn’t give you some sort of joy…look who I ran into on my way to the grocery store.” Watch below.
