Kurt Angle gave his thoughts on the Main Event Mafia faction in TNA Wrestling on the latest episode of his Kurt Angle Show.

During it, the WWE Hall Of Famer noted that the end goal of the group was to make young stars such as AJ Styles and Samoa Joe into bigger stars as TNA Wrestling needed to make new stars.

“At the end of the day, the goal was to make AJ and Samoa Joe bigger stars And the other talents. Yeah. And other guys, too, at this point. And, and a lot of the storyline and, and some of the truth, uh, to a lot of the promos that stings cutting here were about how the young guys claim the veterans owe them nothing and they need to move out of the way and let them, and I’m talking, Joe and AJ and others claim their rightful spot. It was that, uh, you know, tongue in cheek about the guys in TNA feeling like these top stars were coming in and taking their spots or What’s called. Yeah, man, I agree. Well, with you a hundred percent. Listen, people knew who Kurt Angle was. People were gonna turn on the channel to watch Kurt Angle wrestle. Okay. I know your head, the headphones are about to pop off as it swells, but now I’m serious, they know who you are, who Kevin Nash is, and who Booker T is. You know, everybody knows big-time wrestling stars. And to then learn and watch AJ Styles wrestle you and have those holy shit moments to see some of the stuff he could do.”
