WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley issued a heartfelt statement on his 55th birthday asking fans to support indie wrestlers by purchasing their merchandise from Pro Wrestling Tees before giving a special shout out to female star Lu Fisto. Foley states that he usually releases his signature Cactus Jack “Wanted” shirt to raise funds for a good cause, reminding us that last year he raised $31,000 for Ashley Massaro’s daughter.
A FOLEY BIRTHDAY
This is the first time in several years that I have not commemorated my birthday with a #WANTED t-shirt sale. Last year, we were able to raise $31,000 for Ashley Massaro‘s daughter’s college fund through the sale of those shirts. Maybe I’ll be back to selling them in another year or two. But during these last few months, I have been reminded that some of the best wrestling you can ever see is wrestling that very few will ever see. For every superstar who “makes it”, there are so many who work just as hard, want it just as bad, and have matches every bit as good as those whose names are better known.
