First we have the Contra Unit vs Ace Romero and Barrington Hughes. Samael hits Romero with a spike and that takes him out of the match. The Contra Unit double teams Barrington Hughes for the win in another quick match. Simon Gotch joins them and all three attack Barrington Hughes.
The Lucha Brothers were supposed to be in action but the Contra Unit attack them. A fireball was thrown at Rey Fenix’s face.
The show was filled with a lot of build to Fury Road in Milwaukee next week.
Low Ki and Ricky Martinez get a quick win against my guess a couple of local talents. Two squash matches in one night. Contra Unit comes out. Ricky Martinez and Salina De La Renta retreat and leave Low Ki for the wolves.
The Main Event was “Avalanche” Robert Dreissker vs “Filthy” Tom Lawlor(c) for the MLW Heavyweight Title. It was an alright match since this was the only real match of the night. Dreissker had the advantage because of his size but Lawlor outsmarted him and put Dreissker in rear naked choke for the win. Lawlor retains. As you can guess Lawlor gets attacked by the Contra Unit. LA Park tries to head that way to capitalize on title shot but Mance Warner and Sami Callihan attack him back stage to stop him.
I get the build up for Contra Unit but if I want to see quick squash matches I would watch WWE instead. MLW needs to remember that their fanbase is mostly the real wrestling fans and want wrestling. This is just my opinion.
