New Details on WWE’s Current Taping Schedule

As reported, WWE has once again changed their minds on whether they will pre-record episodes of Raw, NXT and Smackdown going forward. This new schedule will allow them to air combinations of live shows plus some taped shows so that talent will not have to travel weekly. This gives them about a two week quarantine before having to return.

The reason for this change is because Fox and USA network executives reached out to Vince McMahon and informed him that airing pre-recorded shows will not affect how much they pay him as long as the footage airs on their network first before anywhere else. Previously, there was concern that WWE would have to take a cut in the money these networks were paying them because of language in their contracts stating that they were only allowed to air episodes that weren’t live a few times a year. This caused McMahon to panic and declare they were going back to producing live episodes each week.

Now that he knows the money is safe, he’s changed the schedule to accommodate the superstars by giving them longer breaks between traveling.
