NJPW President and Top Superstar Hiroshi Tanahashi To Miss Upcoming Dates Due To Injury

Bad news for Hiroshi Tanahashi.

The top superstar and newly named NJPW President is dealing with an ankle injury and will no longer be working the upcoming Sakura Genesis event. Not only that, the Ace has also been pulled from the New Japan Cup tournament series. Furthermore, his IWGP Global Championship matchup against Nic Nemeth has been delayed until further notice.

Following further examination on an ankle injury sustained at New Beginning in Sapporo, Hiroshi Tanahashi will be absent from the New Japan Cup series, as well as Sakura Genesis on April 6 to allow for a full recovery.

His previously announced IWGP Global Championship match will be delayed until a later date to be determined.
