Mexico’s lucha-libre promotion AAA ran an empty arena event last night, their first since postponing all future shows back on March 17th due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
According to the Wrestling Observer, the company took several major precautions during their taping, such as having their referees wear masks and gloves during each matchup. The report states that some wrestlers also wore gloves, but there’s no indication on if that was during their bouts or just backstage.
AAA also socially distanced their commentary team at separate tables on headset, a different approach from what WWE, IMPACT, and AEW have been doing.
