Opening Segment: Heavy Machinery vs. The Mighty

nXt! nXt! nXt! The Full Sail crowd is ready to roll tonight.

Thorne & Miller toss their jackets at Dozovic & Knight to start this match, and the Heavy Machinery lads throw them right back. It’s on like Donkey Kong, says Ranallo!

Once that settles, it’s Dozovic clubbing Thorne, scaring him off to his home corner. Miller comes in only to be spun around multiple times and slammed by Dozovic. While he’s celebrating, Miller launches himself at Dozovic, forcing him to their corner for punches to the head and upper body. Thorne’s tagged back in for a double back suplex. 1-2- kickout.

Thorne manipulates the digits of Dozovic’s left hand as he stomps on his exposed abdomen. He chokes Dozovic along the middle rope and then tags in Miller again. Knight paces the opposite side of the ring, worried about his partner. Fans start clapping for Dozovic to break free of the submission…counter and back suplex by Dozovic!

Tag is made and here come the right hands on Miller. Knight throws Thorne in over the top rope. Double clothesline…double back suplex. Dropkick on Thorne. Overhead double arm belly to back suplex on Miller. Thorne pulls Miller to the outside so Knight jumps on to the apron and nails The Mighty with a somersault plancha.

Knight rolls Miller back into the ring. As he tries to enter, Miller chop blocks Knight to slow him down and then punches Dozovic off the apron.

Suddenly, the music of the Street Profits hits, and they’re in the crowd celebrating and hyping the crowd up!
Miller and Thorne are distracted and upset. Meanwhile, Knight tags in Dozovic. Dozovic and Knight nail Miller with the Compactor! 1-2-3.

Winners: Heavy Machinery via pinfall in almost 5.5 minutes

1 cool point for Heavy Machinery. So good to see these guys get a win again after a few rough months of losses. Again, I’d love to see HM get a longer match to show off their skills, but this was a competitive affair and with the Street Profits cameo, it was a fun opener. Nice to have something lighter after the devastating turn of events from last week’s Championship match.

Second Segment: Moustache Mountain vs. Matt Knox & Bradley Taylor

Bate and Knox are out first, with Knox mocking Bate’s waving.

Bate impresses early with his speed and agility, climbing on and then under Knox, finished with a bait and sucker punch. Tag to Seven. Fireman’s carry slam and Bate finishes that with a quick senton. Cover for a 2 count.

Seven brings the chops and punches to Knox. Knox takes the legs out from under Seven, attacking that previously injured left leg. Tag to Taylor. Powerslam by Knox. Elbow drop by Taylor.

Taylor charges and gets a knee in the forehead from Seven. Chops to the chest. Seven ducks a clothesline and hits Taylor with a snap suplex. Corner clothesline and tag is made to Bate. Bate charges Knox in his corner before nailing Taylor with an exploder suplex. Standing moonsault!

Seven picks up Taylor across his shoulders and Bate flies with a dropkick that sends Taylor crashing to the mat. Seven pins him for the win.

Winners: Moustache Mountain via pinfall in 3 minutes.

Post-match, Seven and Bate have mics. Seven says they’re back at Full Sail. He’s sorry to everyone for how that last match went (where they lost the nXt Tag Team Championships). They’ve spoken to nXt General Manager William Regal.

Bate says the Undisputed Era tried to take out Seven and tear apart their team. Bate says he knows he threw in the towel, but Seven’s health means the world to him. So they want to continue the mission to reclaim the Tag Titles. They’re calling their rematch for TAKEOVER: BROOKLYN!

One cool point for Moustache Mountain’s conclusive victory and for tending to the unfinished matter of their Tag Title loss a few weeks ago. Great to see Bate and Seven on the same page, willing to overcome the towel throw and Seven’s injury, and get back to winning again. Hard to say if they’ll be able to overcome the numbers game in Brooklyn though.

Third Segment: EC3 vs. Kona Reeves

Reeves aspires to live the same lifestyle as EC3. This is Reeves’ biggest test since returning to nXt.

EC3 and Reeves run the ropes as EC3 holds Reeves in a side headlock, bouncing off all ropes of the ring. Finally, Reeves throws EC3 and receives a shoulder block for it. EC3 counters a hip toss with one of his own. Powerslam and it’s all EC3 so far.

Jumping elbow drop forces Reeves to the apron, trying to catch his breath. Shoulder thrust through the ropes catches EC3 off guard. Quick cover attempt, but Reeves only gets 1.

Into the corner, boots and punches to EC3 prompt the crowd to boo Reeves. He’s getting a reaction. Suplex by Reeves. Cobra Clutch attempt. EC3 gets back to his feet though until he’s elbowed to his knees by Reeves. He re-applies the Cobra Clutch. McGuinness says it’s the “Kona Clutch”.

Hold is broken. EC3 tosses Reeves out of the ring. Reeves returns quickly and it’s EC3 with right hands and chops. Splash in the corner, followed by a somersault neckbreaker! He’s ready for the finish when…VELVETEEN DREAM’s music hits.

Dream takes his sweet time walking out to the ramp and he’s got a mic.

Dream asks EC3 if he wants to talk about Royal Albert Hall, you have to come to his world. If you’re lucky, you can bask in the experience. He snaps his fingers, and the atmosphere immediately switches from purple hues to the regular nXt match lighting and screen logo.

Reeves hits EC3 with a Hawaiian Drop! 1-2- NO! EC3 kicks out, and Reeves is shocked and angered. He shouts at EC3 to stay down. EC3 does not. He picks Reeves up on his shoulders for the One-Percenter! 1-2-3.

Winner: EC3 via pinfall in 6 minutes.

One cool point for everybody. Enjoyed what I saw from Reeves and that he’s got a submission and a power game. EC3 continues to be smooth in the ring and well-liked by the fans. Dream’s distraction was compelling, but ultimately did not cost EC3 the match. Interested to see more of those 2 in an actual conversation and, hopefully, it will be an in-ring one because they’re both great on the mic.

Backstage, EC3 is asked about Velveteen Dream’s words. EC3 says he just beat “The Finest” and, of course, he’ll bask in the experience, have a conversation and that conversation will turn into a fight.

Fourth Segment: Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Candice LeRae (Non-Title)

Ranallo says LeRae belongs in the conversation for future nXt Women’s Championship contenders. Watson tells us about Baszler’s mind games but that LeRae won’t be fooled. Baszler sits on the middle rope, inviting LeRae to leave. LeRae nails her with a running dropkick. Before she can return to the ring, Baszler’s hurt again by a baseball slide kick of LeRae’s. Quick start for LeRae using her kicks to hurt Baszler. 1-2- kickout by Baszler.

LeRae takes Baszler by the hand and leaps up to the top turnbuckle where Baszler leaves her to crash and burn to the outside. Baszler drives LeRae shoulder-first into the ring steps. She stands in the ring and waits for LeRae. The referee gets to a 9 count before LeRae rolls back in. Quick 1 count cover.

Baszler snaps that left forearm of LeRae’s and bends it behind her back. LeRae fights to her knees, then feet before she’s thrown into the turnbuckle. Baszler mounts her for punches and then returns to the left forearm attack, stomping directly on it!

Retreating to the corner, LeRae fires back with a right hand, but Baszler’s just further angered by that. She re-applies that left arm submission. LeRae counters the whip to the turnbuckle. Enziguri! Baszler’s dazed but still on her feet.

Right hand punches and chops and forearms! Running back elbow to Baszler. LeRae ascends to the middle rope for a tornado DDT! 1-kickout on 1, and an immediate rollout to the outside.

LeRae meets her with a crossbody splash through the ropes. She brings Baszler in again, goes to the top rope and nails Baszler with another tornado DDT. 1-2- close but no. Baszler kicks out.

Still nursing that left arm, LeRae holds it close to her torso before sitting on the top turnbuckle. Baszler meets her there. She attempts to suplex LeRae but is halted. LeRae goes for a top rope bulldog but Baszler counters it, mid-air, into the Kirifuta Clutch! LeRae immediately goes for the rope break and gets it.

Small package from LeRae! 1-2- Baszler kicks out. LeRae follows up with a 2-foot stomp on Baszler. Unprettier!

Springboard moonsault…NO! Baszler rolls out and her next move is that Kirifuta Clutch. LeRae has nowhere to go this time and she taps out.

Winner: Shayna Baszler via submission in 8 minutes.

Post-match, Baszler attacks LeRae. Referees run down to help, but it’s #1 Contender Kairi Sane who runs down and manages to force Baszler away. Not quickly though, and Baszler puts the boots to Sane, as Sane checks on LeRae.

One cool point for LeRae’s tenacity in almost defeating the champ with a compromised left arm. Interesting strategy with so many high-risk manoeuvres, and that eventually cost her the match when Baszler countered that bulldog.

One cool point for Baszler who clearly has no one left to fear, not even Sane, to whom she hardly batted an eye upon being attacked in the ring post-match. I cannot see her losing to Sane in Brooklyn. She’s got plenty more to show off in nXt.

Outside Full Sail, Moustache Mountain are asked about the rematch, and if they have any tricks up their sleeve. Bate and Seven says they don’t need tricks.

That brings in Hanson and Rowe who say it doesn’t matter who leaves Brooklyn, we’re taking those nXt Tag Team Championships from you or them, referring to Undisputed Era. The plot thickens.

Next, GM Regal makes two matches official for Takeover: Brooklyn. EC3 vs. Velveteen Dream and a North American Championship match between Adam Cole (c) and Ricochet. Also, Keith Lee will make his nXt debut next week.

Final Segment: Meet the new nXt Champion, Tommaso Ciampa

The crowd…is…PISSED as Ciampa walks out with the championship. Fans are screaming and yelling in his face as he smiles. He asks the crowd to take a deep breath just as they begin to chant, “Shut the hell up!” Ciampa says he looks so good with this title. He deserves it, too.

Crowd starts a “No” chant. Ciampa rolls out of the ring and tells an older woman, in the front row, that he remembers her from the last match. He reminds her that she is her nXt Champion. Ciampa returns to the ring and sits on the top-right turnbuckle of the ring. The icing on the cake is not only did he beat Aleister Black, but Johnny Gargano proved, once again, that he is a failure.

He’s the only guy in the entire world who has pinned Black in a one-on-one match. He and Gargano can fight about who is 2a and 2b, but never has there ever been such a big gap between #1 and #2. He’s untouchable. nXt will forever be the “A” show because Ciampa is the greatest sports-entertainer of all-time.

Ciampa sits cross-legged and this brings out Aleister Black, but Johnny Gargano charges right by and attacks Ciampa in the ring. Clothesline after clothesline send Ciampa out of the ring and scrambling through the crowd.

Gargano gets a mic and says this is not your nXt, Ciampa! The only reason he’s champ is because of him. He repeats himself a few times until Black lays him out flat with a superkick. Crowd chants “you deserve it”, as Black picks up the mic. He sits down cross-legged beside Gargano and agrees with Gargano’s words.

Here’s the official, non-spoiler affected card so far for Takeover: Brooklyn:
nXt Women’s Championship Match: Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Kairi Sane (#1c)
nXt Tag Team Championship Match: Undisputed Era (c) vs. Moustache Mountain (#1c)
nXt North American Championship Match: Adam Cole (c) vs. Ricochet
EC3 vs. The Velveteen Dream

An inconclusive ending with no Championship match yet set for Brooklyn, but all signs point to a triple threat. Lots of wrestling during tonight’s show; all the divisions had feature matchups.

Peace!!
