Opening Segment: Heavy Machinery vs. Forgotten Sons

Ryker accompanies Cutler & Blake to the ring, and he’ll be at ringside for this one.

Highlights include:
Dozovic shouting “Oh yeah”, like only he can, as he watches Knight grapple Cutler.

Cutler’s wearing a black mask that covers his eyes and nose.

Spinning powerslam by Dozovic, slamming Cutler on top of Blake, who had just been slammed by Knight.

This is followed up by the caterpillar by Dozovic, and he’s all fired up! Commentary team is calling him “Dozer” pretty consistently in this match.

Cutler & Blake take advantage of a distraction ploy, and start working Dozovic’s left arm. Big clothesline by Blake. Cutler stomps on that left shoulder just after he’s tagged in. 1-2- Dozovic kicks out.

Another tag and now it’s a leg drop by Blake on the apron, where Dozovic’s arm was draped.

Dozovic rolls from his back to his knees and tries to prevent the triangle submission. He can’t though and he’s fading fast. Blake’s cinched it right in there.

Whoa! Dozovic lifts him with the one arm and slams him down, but he’s hurting. DDT on Dozovic, but he rolls to his partner, Knight, for the tag. Knight takes out Blake over the top rope.
Knight brings the boots to Cutler in the corner, and he’s PUMPED.

Knight misses the corner splash, so he goes to the top rope! SOMERSAULT SPLASH! 1-2- No! Cutler kicks out.

Quick tag made by Blake on Cutler. He ascends to the top rope and flies with an elbow drop. 1-2- Knight kicks out!

Blake lifts Knight on to the turnbuckle in the seated position. He tags in Cutler. We’re prepping for a…SUPERPLEX. Blake flies with a splash! 1-2- Dozovic interrupts the count just in time.

Knight catches Cutler with a few pinfall attempts, including a backslide, but Cutler kicks out.
He tags in Dozovic for the…

No! Blake pulls down the top rope and Knight tumbles over. Backstabber by Cutler on Dozovic. Knight pushes Blake off the top and he collides severely into Ryker on the outside.

Meanwhile, Dozovic with the throw and catch powerslam for the win!

Winners: Heavy Machinery via pinfall in 6 minutes

1 cool point for the risk-taking and innovative double team moves these teams executed. 3 false finishes that actually felt like the match was over before it continued on. That’s how to open up the show and 1 extra cool point for Heavy Machinery because they’re on a bit of a roll now in the Tag Division.

Highlights from last week’s confrontation between Nikki Cross and Candice LeRae are shown. This switches to Aleister Black’s message for Gargano, which he shared with LeRae in the ring: Gargano is gone.

Earlier today, LeRae is interviewed outside the Performance Centre. LeRae says she’d like to keep the things between her and Gargano private. Cross didn’t answer her questions; she’s coming to ask GM Regal for a match today. We’ll see if Cross is laughing when LeRae is done.

Second Segment: Women’s Championship Update

Backstage, nXt Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler is sitting on a couch with her Horsewomen friends. Kelley asks her about WarGames.
GM Regal excuses himself into the conversation and says Kairi Sane has decided to invoke her rematch clause. That match will take place at WarGames. It will be a 2 out of 3 falls match.

Baszler tells Kelley to leave.

Dakota Kai vs. Taynara Conti

Conti shows off her judo black belt before the match. McGuinness gives the advantage to Kait, who’s a member of Team Kick.

Highlights include:

Conti tries a kick from behind to the seated Kai. Kai catches the kick, stands up with her opponent’s foot still in her hands as Conti pleads her case. Arm drag takedown.

Beauty dropkick by Kai for a 1 count.

Cool trick by Kai to evade a charging Conti by jumping over her, laying briefly on the top ropes and then dropping down to the mat for a rollup pinfall attempt.

Conti lands a nasty kick to the right wrist of Kai. 1-2- kickout.
Judo toss by Conti, and another one. Smart kick to the face of Kai. 1-2- kickout. Conti is angry after that one. She’s looking for the wristlock on the wrist she kicked earlier.

Scorpion leg kick by Kai, but she can’t follow up due to the damage Conti did on her wrist.

Running face kick and that’s followed by a high kick to the face of Conti. Holy crap! She flips over Conti and takes her down with a backstabber. 1-2-3.

Winner: Dakota Kai via pinfall in 5 minutes

One cool point for the precision of Kai’s kicks and one cool point for Conti’s wrist targeting. For a while, Kai was annoying to watch, but she’s overcome that by being more aggressive in the ring. That scorpion kick is tremendous. The flexibility needed to do that and be accurate with it is impressive.

Backstage, Kelley interviews Mia Yim, one of the newest signees in nXt. She gushes about being added to the roster, but she’s interrupted by Bianca Belair. Belair says she’s the one that’s been busting her butt for 2 years, and Yim’s disrespecting her. Belair says she’s still waiting for her title shot, so Yim can go back to wherever she came from.

Yim says this isn’t her problem, but the E-S-T hasn’t beaten the H-B-I-C (Head Baddie In Charge). We can expect a match booked between those two shortly.

Last week’s highlights of the Riddle/Menzies match are shown. WWE.COM cameras caught up with Riddle talking with Keith Lee after that match. Kassius Ohno calls them Regal’s shiny new toys. Ohno says he likes shiny, new toys because they’re fun to break.
Riddle shakes it off, and Lee and Riddle puff up one another with compliments.

Third Segment: Promoting WarGames

Highlights from last year’s WarGames match are shown, interspersed with comments from the Undisputed Era on having been there last year. They know what it takes to win. They are forever here to shock the system.

The music changes, and War Raiders, Ricochet and Pete Dunne highlights are shown. The men share their frustrations with the Undisputed Era and state that this time there will be no numbers game.

It’s steel and it’s pain. This year, Undisputed Era’s gonna get carried out.

Johnny Gargano Speaks

Johnny Gargano’s self-shot video is played. Gargano shows the path that he took, away from Full Sail, the night he attacked Black. He says it should have been him beating Tommaso Ciampa, but Black got in the way. This isn’t personal; it’s collateral damage.
Gargano feels bad for Black. Gargano is the hero of this story. He does one thing that some people may consider evil, and everybody freaks out. He’s the same Gargano he’s already been. He fights for what’s right.

Sometimes, you’ve gotta fight a little dirty. Gargano accepts that Black wants to kick his face off. Maybe he deserves it, but he’s not scared of him. He lives in a dark place, and he’s not afraid of the dark anymore. He’s kinda starting to like it.
Gargano sits down on the same spot Black was left laying in August. At WarGames, he’ll be left laying again.

One of the songs for Takeover: WarGames is “Wonderful Life” by Bring Me The Horizon.

Final Segments: Velveteen Dream vs. Lars Sullivan

Highlights include:

Dream pushing Sullivan to the outside, through the ropes. Then, he launches himself over the top, splashing Sullivan to the floor.
Dream’s ruthlessly ramming Sullivan’s upper body and head into the steel steps.

Sullivan doesn’t stay down, and he throws Dream into the ring apron. That’s gotta hurt the ribs.

Sullivan forces Dream into the top-left turnbuckle before chucking him across the ring. He clubs Dream with the right hand, and Dream shatters to the mat. Can Dream overcome this brute force?

Rear chinlock slows the offense down and drains some energy from Dream. McGuinness says his strategy may be to hurt Dream enough so that he can’t wrestle at Takeover: WarGames.

Joseph exclaims that Dream is fading due to the pressure of Sullivan on the trapezius muscle. Dream breaks the hold, and he claims enough space to launch into some strikes, including a high kick to the jaw. Leaping double front kick.

Dream soars from the top rope with a missile dropkick. 1-2- kickout by Sullivan.

Dream struggles to hoist Sullivan, but he can’t. Sullivan turns that around for a catch and release powerslam. 1-2- kickout by Dream!
Both men go up to the top-right corner. Sullivan pushes Dream to the mat. He goes for the diving headbutt! 1-2- NO! Dream rolls out of the way.

Dream lifts Sullivan, struggling to lay him over his shoulders, but he does it! Dream Valley Driver! From the top rope, now, Dream flies…to the outside to take out nXt Champion Tommaso Ciampa, who just strolled down to ringside.
Dream rushes back in…to the arms of Sullivan who powerslams him for the 1-2-3 pinfall victory.

Winner: Lars Sullivan via pinfall in 9 minutes

When Sullivan leaves the ring, Ciampa slowly stalks into the ring with his nXt Championship title. He begins beating up on Dream a little bit, saying “I’m the champ”! Ciampa lays the title, flat on the mat. He goes to hurt Dream, but Dream superkicks Ciampa, and then hits the twisting DDT right on the title!

Dream goes up to the top rope, but a number of nXt officials won’t let him jump and they force him off the turnbuckle. Dream breaks free of the officials who were accompanying him up the ramp, and springs on to the top turnbuckle anyway. Top rope elbow drop!

He poses with the title as the fans chant his name to close the show.

One cool point for Sullivan. That big guy knows how to take punishment, and he’s not afraid to fly from the top, which is quite unique for his size and skillset.

One cool point for Dream. He’s so beloved by the FSU fans, and they were ecstatic to see him come out on top in that final segment of the show. Dream needed a feel-good moment like that because I don’t think it will be the same result on November 17th.
