Opening Segment: GM Regal deals with the Undisputed Era

nXt General Manager William Regal comes to the ring to update everyone on the Aleister Black attack. He’s immediately interrupted by the Undisputed Era.
Adam Cole pokes fun at GM Regal for pretending to be like Sherlock Holmes. Black is still out of commission and that’s on Regal. That’s the past now.
Roderick Strong says he and Kyle O’Reilly shouldn’t be worried about being attacked by the War Raiders. They feel unsafe.

GM Regal thinks it’s interesting that the Undisputed Era interrupted him before he could share his info. Cole and company get into the ring, and Cole asks Regal what he’s implying. He demands that Regal also reprimand Ricochet because he’s ducking Cole’s requests for a rematch. Instead, UK Champion Pete Dunne got a title shot?

Cole wants his rematch for the North American Championship NOW!

Regal says Cole never asked for the rematch. On top of that, your interference in their champion vs. champion match…Regal says Cole can’t get one by him, so he won’t get a title shot yet. It’s not fair. In two weeks though, Cole will get his rematch against Ricochet…and Pete Dunne, in a triple threat match.

As for Strong and O’Reilly, in three weeks, they will defend the nXt Tag Team Championships against War Raiders!
Wow, that sets up some fantastic main events in October on nXt TV.

Earlier today, nXt reporters catch up with Johnny Gargano, outside Full Sail. Gargano says he’s sorry for not winning the nXt Championship and for not acting like himself. Sometimes you’ve got to get knocked down lower than you ever were in order to rise higher than you ever have. Next week, he becomes the man he’s meant to be.

Candice LeRae joins him as he walks away, but Lacey Evans approaches, mocking LeRae for not defending her husband no matter what. Evans just walks away as LeRae is restrained by Gargano, saying she’s not worth the trouble.

Cathy Kelley wants a word with Velveteen Dream after he finishes a photo shoot. Dream walks away from her but pauses long enough to say he’s done talking about all the great things he’s done. He’s not talking about the former champion who isn’t here right now, or the champion.
Kelley asks if he’s implying that Ciampa attacked Black. Dream returns through the curtain he just walked through and says he’s not a snitch.

Second Segment: Lars Sullivan vs. Victor Orchant

Ranallo calls Orchant the sacrificial lamb as he gets roughed up by Sullivan. Toss up powerslam on Orchant. Running lariat into the corner. Sullivan chucks Orchant a few times across the ring until one time he rolls right through the ropes.

As Sullivan surveys his handy work, EC3, in dress clothes, attacks Sullivan from behind. He jumps on his back and then clocks him a few times, clotheslining Sullivan over the top rope. Sullivan lands on his feet. EC3 approaches the apron. Sullivan grabs him by the neck, but EC3 is able to push back hard enough to knock Sullivan off his feet.
EC3 and Sullivan share some laughter and smack talk as Sullivan walks up the ramp, leaving the ringside area.

Winner: Lars Sullivan via DQ in 2 minutes

One cool point for the strength of Lars Sullivan. Consistently impressive. One cool point for EC3’s interference and that he stood up to Sullivan. His attitude in this segment was fun, especially the sarcastic laughter, and the fans are behind him.

Backstage, nXt cameras catch up with GM Regal, where he’s asked about that update to the Aleister Black investigation. Nikki Cross walks out of Regal’s office, whispering about playing with Bianca again. GM Regal says he’ll take that under consideration. Cross says, “I know, I know” as she leaves. Regal says nobody knows what Nikki knows.

Third Segment: Street Profits vs. The Mighty

Highlights include: Dawkins’ spinning splash into the corner on Miller,
Ford’s nifty sky-walking and jumping to avoid Miller on the outside,
Miller nails Dawkins with a belly-to-back suplex for a 2 count,
Miller throws Ford into the turnbuckle so hard that he flies over them and falls hard on the ring steps,
Effective corner work by The Mighty, isolating Ford in their corner,
Thorne is persistent in trying to keep Ford from tagging in Dawkins. He keeps getting back to his feet after every strike or counter by Ford. Belly-to-back suplex attempt. Ford tries to counter by landing on his feet, and he does, but his knee buckles. Jacknife pinfall attempt by Thorne succeeds.

Winners: The Mighty via pinfall in 9 minutes

1 cool point for each team. Entertaining match. Liked seeing The Mighty mocking Street Profits by bringing the black plastic cup they stole from them down to the ring. Great sequence near the end where Ford was trying to make the tag to Dawkins. He kept getting stopped but, each time, Ford or Dawkins was able to push away or slam Thorne and Miller. They never got the hot tag, Ford’s knee buckled and that was a wrap. Good seeing the Street Profits get a longer match to show their stuff.

Fourth Segment: Kairi Sane (c) vs. Vanessa Borne (Non-Title)

Love the attitude from Borne who puts on Sane’s pirate hat to begin the match. Then, she kicks it out of the ring. Way to get the ire of the champ!

That’s about as much as Borne would do though, besides a twisting suplex for a 2 count near the start. Sane fights out of a ¾ nelson hold, driving Borne into the corner. Borne rolls out but misses a splash in the corner. Hesitation DDT from Sane. Double axe handles. Then, it’s a spear off the ropes. Sliding D! You know what’s next. Top Rope InSANE elbow! 1-2-3

Winner: Kairi Sane via pinfall in 3 minutes

Post-match, Shayna Baszler comes out to the ring via the entrance ramp.
She tells Sane that her win in Brooklyn hurt her. She’s finally going to invoke her rematch clause and, this time, Baszler will drop anchor on Sane’s championship reign.
Sane responds and agrees to a match at Evolution. Sane will beat Shayna…again!
One cool point for Borne, for the aforementioned attitude, making the most of her short time in the spotlight tonight.

One cool point for Sane’s offensive flurry to finish this match. She looked cool, calm and confident listening to Baszler ask for her rematch, too. Things sure changed a bunch at Takeover: Brooklyn IV. It seemed like Baszler wasn’t going to lose for a long time.

Backstage, Tucker Knight, of Heavy Machinery, is waving a towel at Otis Dozovic, helping him prepare for his match against nXt Champion Tommaso Ciampa.

Also, nXt cameras approach Keith Lee walking backstage. He’s undefeated and asked about that. Lee says he’s looking for gold now.
They walk by Kona Reeves in a photo shoot. Kona comments that he doesn’t see anything limitless about Keith Lee. Lee tries to shake Reeves’ hand. Reeves says to wait his turn. Lee says if Reeves wants to talk down to him, they can meet in the ring.

Final Segment: Tommaso Ciampa (c) vs. Otis Dozovic (HM)

Highlights include: Dozovic with the strong start, knocking Ciampa down with shoulder tackles and an Irish whip that sends Ciampa over the top rope to the floor below,
He picks up Ciampa, spins around a few times and throws the champion to the mat. Fans are loving this.
We have a caterpillar sighting! As Ciampa retreats to the outside, Dozovic entertains.
Dozovic goes out to meet him there but this is Ciampa’s playground. He slams Dozovic on the ramp. Running knee to the head with Dozovic lying, hanging off the ring apron. Ciampa rolls him in for a 2 count.
Ciampa’s sleeper attempts fail. Dozovic returns to form with a strong clothesline and a 2 count. McGuinness says if he had hooked the leg for the pinfall, he may have won.
Ciampa grabs his championship belt and walks up the ramp. He’s met on the stage by Tucker Knight. Dozovic clotheslines Ciampa from behind, seizing the distraction.
At ringside now, they’re pacing after one another. Overhead exploder suplex by Dozovic! Big elbow! 1-2- no. Ciampa kicks out.
Sit out power bomb by Dozovic! 1-2- Ciampa kicks out again. Dozovic goes to the top turnbuckle but Ciampa rolls to the outside. It’s Draping DDT City! One on the apron to the outside and one through the ropes to the inside by Ciampa. 1-2-3.

Winner: Tommaso Ciampa via pinfall in 9 minutes

Two cool points for Dozovic. You may not think this match had much going for it coming into the evening…and you’d be right. But Dozovic finds ways to shine with his exciting promos and his energetic, powerful wrestling style. He competed with Ciampa and earned the main event spot tonight.

One cool point for the champ who was praised for his adaptability all night. He can endure a lot of punishment, too, which he certainly took from the Dozer. Ciampa, ever the opportunist, never gave up and continued looking for a weak spot to finally defeat Dozovic. This is why he’s champ.
