On the most recent episode of WWE’s Break It Down, R Truth spoke on The Miz having terrible rapping skills and John Cena being the one to break the bad news to him. Here’s what he had to say:
I remember [Miz] always brings this up. He came to me and was like, ‘Hey Truth, I wrote a rap. I want you to check it out.’ I was like, ‘You wrote a rap? OK, cool. I’ll check it out.’ He started rapping this thing to me, man, and I don’t even know if he was supposed to be on beat or not be on beat but he was rapping and I couldn’t tell him it was bad. So, I just didn’t say nothing.
Before I could say anything, John Cena out of nowhere in the back heard the rap and yells out, ‘Tell the truth, Truth. Tell him it sucks.’ That was why we came up with that song, the ‘What’s Up?’ remix to ‘U Suck.’ One of the reasons was because Cena yelled out that it sucked. Miz always says I buried his rap, I didn’t bury it. He gave forth a damn good effort.
