Seth Rollins and David Starr Have Twitter Exchange Regarding COVID-19 Affecting The Wrestling Industry

Following yesterday’s massive cuts made by WWE in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, superstar Seth Rollins shared a video on his Instagram asking fellow wrestlers and fans to help “lift each other up” during this time of crisis before questioning people’s anger at WWE for making the cuts in the first place.

Indie sensation David Starr responded to Rollins writing, “Do you mean rally behind an industry or rally behind a company?”

Rollins answered with: “I very much mean an industry, David. I came from nothing. I have friends and students at every level and they’ve all been decimated by this pandemic. As the shutdown took hold of my WWE family yesterday, I felt a deep sadness. I want us all to lift each other up.”

Starr, who has been pushing for pro-wrestlers to unionize for years, believed Rollins to be sincere, but once again questioned why the workers of the industry don’t fight back against the powers that be. He says, “I believe the sentiment of compassion, empathy and sadness is sincere. I also believe the recognition of responsibility for these unnecessary & egregious actions should be made as well. We, as workers, need to channel this sadness (and in some cases justified anger) to unify.”
