The Rock Reveals The Most Important Match Of His Career Was With Chris Jericho In Hawaii

During a recent Instagram live stream The Rock revealed what he considered the most important match of his career… a bout against Chris Jericho at Hawaii’s Blaisdell Center in front of his entire family.

The Great One begins talking about how cool it was to sell out the arena faster than Elvis did.

I’ve wrestled around the world…every major arena around this country…every major arena around the world. The most meaningful match I’ve ever had was to go back to Hawaii…Blaisdell Center…be the main event…sold it out by the way faster than Elvis did. (Laughs) How cool was that? So grateful to hear that news. It was so special I flew my entire family for this because everybody knew what this moment meant…including my grandmother. I flew my grandmother in…I have goosebumps right now thinking about it.

He later says the match he had with Jericho was phenomenal, calling him a great dance partner.

My music hits…I come out, I see them and give everybody a kiss in the front row. We have our match…it’s a phenomenal match…Chris Jericho was a great dance partner for me, and afterwards I get on the mic and thank the crowd and let them know how meaningful this is to me and to my family. Because for years and years and years Hawaii just meant struggle. So I thanked them. What was beautiful about that night was that the people of Hawaii…the culture…they all knew what that meant.
