The Sandman Recalls High-Fiving Michael Jordan After 1998 NBA Finals Win, Talks Memories Of The Game

ECW legend The Sandman spoke with Pro Wrestling Sheet to talk about his brief appearance in ESPN’s hit docu-series The Last Dance, which tells the tale of the 1990s Chicago Bulls dynasty. The series includes unforgettable interviews with basketball icons Michale Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Phil Jackson, Dennis Rodman, as well as brief appearances from many of the NBA greats during that time.

Some dedicated wrestling fans spotted Sandman briefly in the series high-fiving Michale Jordan following their game 6 victory in the 1998 NBA finals against the Utah Jazz. When asked about it…Sandman admits he completely forgot it happened.

I f*cking forgot about it…your headline should be: The Sandman doesn’t even remember high-fiving Jordan. I don’t remember that part at all, Jordan coming out of the f*cking bus and high-fiving him. I swear to God, I don’t remember it. I haven’t told anybody that story! I can’t find a person I’ve told that story to, that I high-fived Jordan, because I f*cking forgot.

After sharing a story regarding scalping tickets to the game, Sandman talks about seeing himself in the documentary and nearly scaring his girlfriend by screaming so loud.

I’m with my girl, I’m laying in bed. It’s a quarter to eleven. I was not expecting to see myself. When I saw myself, I screamed and yelled so loud. She’s still mad at me for it. She was scared, got up and ran out of the f*cking condo. I was freaking out so bad.
