There’s Already Talks of Ending The Brand Split, Wrestlers Getting Nervous

Not too surprisingly, there’s already talks of ending the brand split.

The talks have been going on for awhile, likely as a result of the dipping ratings. It’s a known fact that Vince McMahon reverts back to what is proven to work in the past. In this case, it’s a unified roster.

When the brand split first happened, neither Fox nor USA were happy with the idea of splitting up the roster. USA was particularly upset to be losing the big names that were proven draws. Eric Bischoff’s Smackdown was given a majority of the established wrestlers while Heyman lobbied for new talent on Raw.

Despite this, USA understood that the lower ratings overall were a result of Heyman pushing new talent and understood that kind of thing takes time. However, the pandemic has switched things up because ratings have dipped down much, much lower. This prompted McMahon to get impatient and revert back to what works.

The belief right now is that McMahon will go back to superstars who have been proven draws in the past like Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Charlotte, and others that are established. This has left some superstars nervous that their push will come to an end soon. The current belief is that we’ll get an idea who Heyman was lobbying for within 5 weeks because we’ll be seeing only the people who McMahon wants getting pushed.

As of right now, ending the brand split is only in the talking stage. Nothing has been made official and there’s no timetable for when something like this would take place.
