WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is getting attention on social media for a photo that he re-posted this week, featuring his meeting with the late WWE Hall of Famer Yokozuna.
WWE noted on their website that Drew and Yoko are the only two Superstars to compete in two WrestleMania main events in the same night. This is a reference to Drew defeating Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Title as the main event of WrestleMania 36 Night Two, and then defeating Big Show in a match that WWE claimed took place “20 minutes later” but didn’t air until RAW the next night.
Yoko faced WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart at WrestleMania 9, and then faced Hart and Lex Luger at WrestleMania 10. Yoko would defeat Bret in around 9 minutes and then lose to Hogan in seconds. The next year he defeated Luger by DQ in around 15 minutes, and later lost to Bret in around 11 minutes.
Drew commented on the photo and wrote, “Seen this pic making the rounds online & occurred to me we have something in common. Two Title matches at #WrestleMania in one night…..not sure this kid would’ve believed you! #Yokozuna”
