Full Sail University, Orlando, FL
Commentary by Mauro Ranallo and Percy Watson

Opening Segment

Please welcome the Undisputed Era to the ring. Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong all wear their titles as the still injured Bobby Fish goes without. They pose in the ring and the crowd shouts, “Adam Cole Bay-Bay!”
Cole gets the mic and he shares that nXt’s mission has been to prevent the UE from wearing all the gold, yet here they stand. Fish says, at War Games, they were thrown to the wolves. At New Orleans, same thing. The UE remain one step ahead, dripping in nXt championship gold.

Strong takes the mic and everyone wants to know why, Roddy, why. For once, he did something for himself; he made the best decision of his career. He knew Pete would’ve turned on him. He only cares about the UK Championship. Not the UE. These guys take bullets for each other. In the midst of the tag match, he had an epiphany. Why fight alone and come up so short when we can fight together and take over nXt?

O’Reilly says we’re done being backed into a corner. We can’t be stopped! Times are a-changing and we’re leaving everyone else in the dust.

Cole will defend the North American Championship against Oney Lorcan right now, and he will do it on his own. He doesn’t need any help against Oney. So, go to the back, find a seat and watch him do what he does: shock the system.

nXt North American Championship Match: Adam Cole (c) vs. Oney Lorcan
Ranallo notes that Cole’s ribs are still taped up, so he’s still suffering from the injuries at Takeover: New Orleans.

Highlights include:
Lorcan attacks the abdomen of Cole with a beauty abdominal stretch until Cole rolls out of the ring in retreat. Cole wants a timeout but there’s no such thing. He rolls in and rolls back out, trying to buy time. Lorcan follows. The two fight for supremacy on the apron as Lorcan attempts a suplex. Cole responds with a high kick to the face.

Bicycle kick by Cole. This eventually leads to a chinlock where Cole maintains pressure for a time.
Lorcan ascends the top turnbuckle as Cole lies hurt on the outside. The rest of UE run down with an nXt trainer to check Cole. Meanwhile, Strong delivers a belly to back suplex to Lorcan, then rushes over to throw Cole back in the ring. He connects with a

Winner, and still champion: Adam Cole via pinfall in 9 minutes
Post-match, Strong and O’Reilly beat up on Lorcan which prompts Danny Burch to run out and defend his tag partner. They take care of Burch as well. By take care, I mean beat up.

One cool point for Cole and the Undisputed Era for an excellent promo to open up the show and a sneaky title defense. Lorcan got most of the offense in, but he didn’t enjoy any success. He’ll need some more out of ring support.

Last week, Candice LeRae and Zelina Vega wrestled in the main event. We see highlights of that match. LeRae will wrestle Bianca Bel-Air next week.

Second Segment

A promo featuring Bianca Bel-Air is shown.

Tag Team Match: Heavy Machinery vs. Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss

This will be the rubber match for this feud after the no contest in New Orleans the week after Takeover, thanks to the interference of War Raiders.

Knight and Moss start this one. Shoulder block by Knight. Sabbatelli runs in, leaps over Knight and gets clocked by Dozovic, who also entered the ring. Double shoulder blocks off the ropes by HM. Sabbatelli gets tossed out of the ring. Knight continues with a back body drop on Moss. Tag is made.

Sabbatelli launches himself at Dozovic who catches him. They stand tall on the chests of Moss & Sabbatelli, embarrassing them. Dozovic continues with the punches. Moss clubs Dozovic. He yells and hits back. Sabbatelli interferes, which allows Moss to hit a back suplex on Dozovic.

Moss laces into him in their home corner, while tagging in. Pinfall by Sabbatelli for a 2 count. Double team is ineffective. Moss ends up getting speared to barricade, off the apron, by Sabbatelli.

Knight with a standing dropkick on Moss after Dozovic tags him. He can’t keep the momentum going. Moss crawls towards his corner and Sabbatelli drops off the apron, and backs up the ramp. Guess they’re not on the same page.
Knight squashes Moss with a corner avalanche. Belly to belly suplex. Splash in the corner. COMPACTOR with Dozovic. It’s over.

Winners: Heavy Machinery via pinfall in minutes

Post-match, Knight gets the mic and calls out War Raiders. Well, they’re going to raid the buffets and take the steaks. Dozovic says they’re going to raid all the gyms and lift all the weights! Are the War Raiders man enough to stand in the ring with them?

One cool point for Heavy Machinery! They had a fantastic finishing sequence of moves here, and I love that they’re calling out War Raiders. Two super-heavyweight teams to do battle in the squared circle could produce some excellent TV.

A promo of highlights featuring women on the nXt roster is shown, featuring Nikki Cross, Aliyah, and Kairi Sane.
Earlier today, Dakota Kai is interviewed about what happened last week. Kai says she doesn’t feel like talking about. She’s sorry but she’s not upset. Kai repeats her statement and then shuts up when she sees nXt Champion Shayna Baszler enter the scene.

Baszler asks how it feels about the reality of this division, seen in Baszler, being Kai’s worst nightmare.

Final Segments

nXt’s finest Kona Reeves is seen again in a promo highlighting his return to nXt…NEXT WEEK!
3 more women on the nXt roster who want to dethrone Baszler are: Lacey Evans, Vanessa Borne, and Candice LeRae. We see a brief promo for each wrestler.

Next Week TM61 vs. Street Profits, and UK Champ Pete Dunne vs. Roderick Strong in a grudge match

Johnny Gargano’s music hits and he walks out on to the ramp. Suddenly, it’s hit from behind by Tommaso Ciampa! Ciampa throws him off the ramp and into the side of the announce table. He pummels him some more before lifting Gargano on top of the table. Ciampa climbs up, yells in his face about not getting rid of him, lifts him up on the shoulders… Gargano fights his way down and superkicks Ciampa. Gargano launches himself at Ciampa, and both men fall hard on the ground.

Gargano with lefts on Ciampa, attacking the eye patch. Ciampa kicks back. Crowd chants “You tapped out”. Ciampa with the running punt on Gargano’s head. Referees immediately tend to Gargano and instruct Ciampa to get out.
Ciampa rushes back, picks up Gargano from the side, cradling his head, and jumps off the stage….Gargano lands back and head first on two tables, standing side by side. Ciampa surveys the damage he did from the stage, as fans boo and look on in genuine concern. Gargano hit pretty hard and he’s bleeding from the head. LeRae is out checking on her husband as medical personnel try to help out. They’re not doing a great job. No commentary as this plays out.

They eventually get the neck brace on Gargano, lift him up on the board and on to the stretcher. They roll him to the backstage area and cameras follow, all the way outside to parking lot. Aleister Black stands, title on his shoulder, by the ambulance, briefly looking on. Kassius Ohno held Gargano’s hand for a bit and consoled LeRae before she left, in the ambulance, with Gargano.

Camera pans up on top of the trailer and Ciampa is waving goodbye.

Meanwhile, nXt Champion Aleister Black walks out to the ringside area, to no music, and grabs a mic. He looks pretty upset.

Tommaso Ciampa, by eliminating my competition….he’s cut off by the music of SAnitY! Here comes Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain. They surround Black, with only Young entering the ring. Chaos took away the hope that Gargano brought, says Young. Out of the chaos, we will find sanity.

Black asks if Young is looking for this. He holds up the title belt. Young nods. Crowd chants “yes”. Here we go!

nXt Championship Match: Aleister Black (c) vs. Eric Young w. SAnitY

Watson’s not sure if this is a title match, but they are definitely wrestling. Young with the single leg takedown, followed by a side headlock, securing Black to the mat. Fans chant. Young’s firmly in control here, with a leg drop and a running elbow drop. 1-2- kickout!

Black catches Young off the ropes with a sleeper hold, then a well placed knee. Young goes to the outside. Black does his trademark springboard backflip and cross-legged sit down in the middle of the ring. Young carefully returns through the ropes to the ring. He charges with a knee. Black kips up to avoid it and applies an armbar.
Young uses a shoulder thrust to break free. He lifts Black on his shoulders. Nothing doing. Black with mad strikes of forearms and knees, a true striking clinic. He positions Young on the top turnbuckle. Wolfe charges in to interfere. Referee doesn’t call anything.

Young with an elbow drop from the second rope. Double axe handles for a 2 count. Neckbreaker. 2 count. Young applies a chinlock on Black and holds him there for a while. Fans finally begin to cheer. Young breaks the hold, runs the ropes and receives a swift kick to the jaw by Black.

Massive jumping knee strike by Black on Young! Both men are down and the referee begins the 10 count, getting only to 5. They trade punches and kicks.

Big knee strike, followed by a QUEBRADA by Black!

Young charges at Black. Black evades a few times and applies a modified octopus hold on Young in the centre of the ring. Young lifts Black on to his shoulders for a Death Valley Bomb! 1-2- kickout! Close one.
Young ascends to the top turnbuckle. Black meets him there and the two men trade punches again. Black stumbles down. Young stands up, flies, front roll. He flips on to the apron, slides under the rope, gets up and…BLACK MASS by Black! 1-2-3!

Wolfe and Dain rush in…and they receive BLACK MASS as well.

Winner, and still nXt Champion: Aleister Black via pinfall in 7 minutes

One cool point for Ciampa’s devious strategy of taking out Gargano again, just before fans were set to enjoy what should be a thrilling encounter. This perpetuates my thought that Ciampa and Gargano aren’t done yet. We might see a cage match or the first HIAC in nXt history, in Chicago.
One cool point for Aleister Black and the force with which he was kipping up tonight. Unreal core strength.
One cool point to SAnitY for the surprise of their appearance. Not sure what happened during the pinfall that prevented Wolfe and Dain from getting in there, but Young may cuss them out.
Looking forward to reading your cool point suggestions and comments on tonight’s nXt show.
