WWE RAW Superstar Getting More TV Time But Not Many Wins

Add Akira Tozawa to the list of Superstars who have RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman as a supporter.

Tozawa has been used more on RAW TV as of late during the COVID-19 tapings from the WWE Performance Center and apparently that’s because Heyman is a big fan, according to Wrestling Observer Radio. Heyman’s support has translated to more TV time for several up & coming talents in the last year or so, and Tozawa looks to be the latest to benefit.

While Tozawa is getting more TV time on RAW and has the support of Heyman, that doesn’t mean he’s picking up main roster wins. Since January 6 of this year, he has lost RAW matches to AJ Styles, Shelton Benjamin, Aleister Black, Austin Theory, WWE United States Champion Andrade, Bobby Lashley, and Jinder Mahal. He defeated Eric Young on one episode of WWE Main Event, but lost to Cedric Alexander on Main Event the week before that.

Tozawa is also currently working the tournament to crown an Interim Cruiserweight Champion on WWE NXT TV. He lost his first tournament match to Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, but will soon face El Hijo del Fantasma and Jack Gallagher in Group B singles matches.

Stay tuned for updates on Tozawa’s WWE status.
