WWE Reportedly Bans “Buckle Bomb” Maneuver From In-Ring Competition

According to PW Insider, WWE has added the turnbuckle powerbomb (aka Buckle Bomb) to their banned move list, and it will no longer be permitted for in-ring action. The maneuver, which has been a signature for a number of superstars including Seth Rollins, led to the early retirement of WWE Hall of Famer Sting, and has previously banged up wrestlers across the globe. It was recently used by Nia Jax in a singles match against Kairi Sane, a video which went viral due to the unsafe nature of the spot.

It should be noted that certain maneuvers that were previously banned have returned, including Rollins’ curb stomp finisher. Whether the buckle bomb remains forever banned in WWE remains to be seen.
