WWE Wanted “Attempted Murder Heat” for King Baron Corbin at Money in the Bank

It was clear during Sunday’s WWE Money in the Bank PPV that Aleister Black and Rey Mysterio didn’t really take a bump off the roof of WWE HQ in the spot with King Corbin, but WWE wanted to make it seem that way so Corbin would get major heat.

The idea was that Corbin did not know he was actually throwing Mysterio and Black onto a secondary roof just 6 feet below. It was described on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE wanted Corbin to have “attempted murder heat” from the spot.

WWE quickly let fans in on the part about the secondary roof with last night’s Raw. Corbin, asked by Charly Caruso about what he did to Black and Mysterio, laughed at what happened and said both of his competitors were lucky because the fans didn’t see them landing on another roof just feet away. WWE had announced before Raw hit the air that Corbin and Mysterio had been medically cleared and were okay because they just landed 6 feet below, not off the roof to the ground.

Corbin will be on Raw next Monday in the Brand To Brand Invitation, to face WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. The WWE Championship will not be on the line.
