Winner: Jon Moxley

Rating: ****. Heck of a triple threat match here. Moxley going to the finals against his teammate Danielson or his best friend Eddie Kingston is not something I thought about, but it’s genius. Swerve and White looked great in defeat and lose nothing by losing a triple threat match.

Tony Schiavone is here with Prince Nana and Swerve, back from commercial break. Swerve said he wanted this so bad, but when Swerve said this Continental Classic was breathing life back into this business, he wasn’t lying. Swerve said he heard that someone on Collision was talking about him, and challenges Keith Lee for World’s End.

Renee welcomes Mariah May to the stage. May says she was supporting Toni Storm last week, when she attacked Riho. May says she didn’t like 2023’s energy and 2024 is all about Mariah, so she will debut next week. Riho is here and chases May to the ring, but Toni Storm is here, too. Storm dives on everyone as Storm and May retreat.

Top Flight says even though they lost to The Acclaimed, they’re still one of the best trios. Here are the Best Friends, and we have a match for Friday.

Miro throws out a challenge to Andrade for Saturday, and that will now be happening at World’s End.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring, and welcomes Don Callis and family for Boxing Week. Callis says there’s been a lot of stuff going on outside the business the last few weeks, but he couldn’t have gotten through it without his family. The entire arena chants “F*** You Callis”, effectively drowning Callis out. Callis unveils four paintings he had commissioned, one for each of his family members.

Sammy Guevara is here… wait, was he part of the Don Callis Family? Guevara says “long time no talk” and Callis asks if he got the gift he sent for the kid? Callis shows Guevara a pic of Callis and company with Guevara, and his baby. Guevara wants to know who the hell said he’s allowed to use a picture of his kid? Callis said Guevara isn’t mentally ready to be a father… yikes.

Guevara says Callis wants the spotlight over guys like Takeshita and Hobbs. Callis says he’s disappointed Guevara didn’t show up for work for five months because he was hurt and having babies. Callis says Guevara chooses which family he wants. Callis says if Guevara chooses wrong, he’ll be a bigger failure as a wrestler than he is as a parent. Guevara dumps Callis with a double leg but gets jumped by Hobbs, Fletcher, and Takeshita.

Jericho is here with Floyd! Jericho clears the ring and destroys all of the paintings, and lets Guevara take care of the last one. Both men hug it out but Starks and Big Bill are here and jump both guys from behind.

Lights out!

Here’s Sting and Darby! Sting lays into Big Bill with the bat, as does Jericho!

Roderick Strong and The Kingdom are in the back with Renee, as Strong says he’s going to provide proof tonight that MJF is The Devil.

Danielson looks for the Lebell Lock but Kingston quickly makes it to the ropes. Danielson berates Kingston and charges, but Kingston catches him with an exploder suplex. DDT by Kingston and machine gun chops in the corner! “Let’s Go Eddie/He’s No Bum” dueling chants now as Kingston delivers some of the heaviest chops I’ve ever seen. Kingston puts the boots to Danielson in the corner and looks for another exploder, but Danielson transitions to the Lebell Lock. Kingston finally gets to the ropes but the damage is done and Danielson just punts the stomach and back of a grounded Kingston. ONE, TWO, THREE!

Winner: Eddie Kingston

Rating: ****1/2. Absolutely incredible fight. If you would have told me that an entire arena full of people would be chanting for Eddie Kinston over Bryan Danielson, I wouldn’t have believed you, but here we are and I couldn’t be happier. This was a fight, with stakes, and both men made it feel like they would die for the tournament.

After the match, Kingston is legitimately crying in the ring. Moxley makes his way to the ring to look over his fallen brethren in Danielson. Kingston sees Moxley, and Moxley grabs the mic. Moxley said all he’s ever asked of Kingston was 100%, and his best. Moxley said everyone in Orlando loves Kingston, people all around the world, and everyone in NY will love Kingston, and they deserve his maximum effort. Moxley says he knows Kingston better than Kingston does, and he knows he had already given up. Moxley tries to continue but Kingston steals the microphone. Kingston said he’s no young boy, he’s not Yuta, Kingston broke in first and he’s lucky he let Moxley breathe. Kingston said he doesn’t hate anyone as much as he hates himself, and Moxley once talked him out of quitting because AEW needs guys like him. On Saturday, Kingston is going to bust Moxley up, and enjoy it.

Christian is in the back with Lexi Nair, Mother Wayne, and Nick Wayne. Christian has been waiting for Copeland to show up all night, and here he is. Copeland kicks in the door and a brawl ensues. The entire roster tries to separate the two and finally does. Oh, the Von Erich’s are still there. Awesome.

Match #3. Kris Statlander vs. Skye Blue

Stokely Hathaway has joined the commentary table. Both women trade shots early before Statlander drops Blue with a shoulder tackle and big body slam. Flying head scissors by Blue and some boots in the corner. Stalling vertical suplex by Statlander as Stokely tells the rest of the guys at the announce desk about his cousin who’s been out of work for five years after a fall at work. Running knee in the corner followed by Chaos Theory! Two count. Blue ducks the discus lariat and comes back with a superkick. Code Blue! Two count, only. Blue wants a hurricanrana off the top but Statlander catches her in mid-air and powerbombs her for a long two. Both women on the top rope now as Blue feigns an eye injury, causing the referee to turn her back. From underneath the ring it’s Julia Hart, who hits Statlander with the TBS championship, and Blue superkicks her in the back of the head. Avalanche Code Blue gets the win.

Winner: Skye Blue

Rating: **3/4. Nice match here, despite being somewhat short on time. Blue is an example of someone that has grown in leaps and bounds recently

After the match, both women attack Statlander until Willow makes the save. Blue and Hart head to the back but Abadon is here and the two women find a different exit.

Renee is with Ruby Soho and Saraya. Ruby is wrestling Marina Shafir on Rampage.

There’s five minutes left in the show… and we still have Samoa Joe and MJF vs. The Devil’s Rejects to go, as Excalibur runs down this weekend’s card.

Match #4. Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship: MJF & Samoa Joe vs. The Devil’s Guys

Devil Dudes walk out through the crowd to no music. Samoa Joe’s music hits but he’s not here. Joe is in the back clutching at his knee, as shown on the screen. Joe is screaming “Tell MJF not to go out there!” MJF says he doesn’t care and he’s taking these guys on in a handicap match. MJF attacks quickly with some stomps in the corner and sends one of the guys into the corner with an arm ringer. MJF’s shoulder is heavily wrapped, by the way. MJF tries to rip the mask off but some dude under the ring, also in a mask, hits MJF with a pipe on the far side of the ring. Heatseeker by a masked man and the other dude holds MJF’s feet down and gets the win.

Winner and NEW Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions: The Devil Dudes

Rating: NR.

Four of the masked men beat on MJF after the match, but Joe is here with a chair to make the save. The screen flashes The Devil’s face and says “Pleasure doing business with you” as Joe cracks MJF in the back with the chair! Muscle Buster by Joe!

Final Thoughts: What a meaningful episode of Dynamite. Both sides of the Continental Classic were fantastic, and we’ve got a great final coming up. The Devil storyline is developing nicely and there are a lot of twists and turns. Lots of storyline advancement all throughout the show, though, and a good lead in to World’s End this weekend. Also, four matches is a nice change of pace. 9/10.
