Match #1. AEW TNT Championship: Christian Cage (c) w/ Killswitch & Nick Wayne vs. Dustin Rhodes

Christian bails several times to start the match. Hard tie up and a quick snap powerslam by Dustin gets two. Dustin sends Christian over the steel steps and Dustin flies off with a clothesline. Two count. Christian rolls to the outside as Dustin looks for a suicide dive, but Christian pokes him in the eye instead. Christian drops Dustin back-first over the top rope and follows up with a frog splash off the top. Two count. Christian grabs the title but Aubrey takes it from him, as Dustin rolls Christian up for a long three count behind the referee’s back. Nick Wayne reverses the cradle but Dustin is out at two. Dustin with some more right hands and a bulldog attempt but Christian blocks it. Christian is on the middle rope and Dustin trips the legs out and hits the Shattered Dreams as Wayne inadvertently distracts the referee. Superplex by Dustin! Crossroads by Dustin! One, two, no! 2.9999999. Wayne grabs the leg of Dustin again and Dustin heads to the outside, but Killswitch is here. Dustin dumps Killswitch and hits Wayne with a Canadian Destroyer on the floor! Back in the ring and Christian posts Dustin, allowing him to hit the spear. Killswitch! Dustin kicks out at two! Another Killswitch and this one is over.

Winner and STILL AEW TNT Champion: Dustin Rhodes

Rating: ****. Call me crazy, this ruled. Two wily veterans telling a really fun story and Dustin throws everything at Christian but the kitchen sink.

Swerve Strickland is with Renee. Swerve is laser-focused on the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, and it doesn’t matter if it’s Joe or Hook, his eyes are on it. Swerve also has his eyes on Hangman, and despite the amount of impressive challengers Hangman has beaten, Swerve’s beaten him twice and has no reason to do it again.

Renee is in the back with Chris Jericho. Jericho says that his previous win of Takeshita doesn’t mean anything, because he’s out for revenge after Takeshita cost him the titles on Saturday night. Matt Sydal is here? Sydal says he knows Jericho too well, and he needs to fight someone who has beaten him already. Jericho says he was “Bourne” to do this, and they’re going to do it on Rampage.

Match #2. Orange Cassidy & Trent vs. Komander & Penta

Penta goes ZERO FEAR all over the fact of Cassidy. Cassidy goes pocket hands but Penta prevents it and both men trade arm drags and leg drops. Satellite DDT is blocked. Komander back up top but misses a Phoenix Splash. Running knee by Trent and a superkick by Penta. Double jump by Penta but Cassidy moves Trent out of the way and hits Beach Break on Penta. Superman punch by Cassidy to Komander and Strong Zero finishes this one!

Winners: Orange Cassidy & Trent

Rating: ***1/2. Fun tag match between two somewhat unusual pairings. However, everyone worked really well together and I could benefit from seeing more Penta.

Here’s the Undisputed Kingdom! The UK are circling the ring. Roderick tells Cassidy that he’s keeping that belt warm for him, and he wants a match at Revolution on Sunday, March 3rd, at Revolution.

Renee is with Hangman. Hangman says there isn’t anything that appreciated the title more than he did. Hangman doesn’t just want to win the championship, he wants to make it his, and keep it there. Hangman says Swerve thinks about him a lot, and he doesn’t think about him at all. Page cares about Joe or Hook, not Swerve.

Mark Briscoe is here with the entire Briscoe family. Briscoe has the mic and asked South Carolina… what’s good! Mark represents the baddest tag team on the history of the planet, Dem Boys. The entire arena chants “Dem Boys!”. Tragically, one year ago today, Jay passed away in a car accident. Jay’s daughters, Mark’s nieces, were also in the car. Mark said they told his oldest niece that she would never walk again.. but here she is! The Briscoe family is on stage together.

A video package of The Briscoe’s is shown and just… unbelievably well done. No words for it, just go watch.

Renee is in the back with The Young Bucks The Bucks correct her and tell them to call her by their God-given names… Nicholas and Matthew Jackson. They’re EVPs and they need to start taking this job more seriously. What would Renee do to protect her family? That what the Bucks did to protect their baby, in regards to the “rumors” that are out there about them. The Bucks lost their way, toxicity crept into the locker room. The Bucks spent too much time relying on yesterday’s self-serving superstars, and this isn’t about Sting, because Sting is great. Sting is the last of the dying breed, and the image of Sting isn’t in line with what they wanted for the company. Unfortunately, they will be saying goodbye to Sting, and may have to pull some strings.

Match #3. Ring of Honor World Six-Man Tag Team Championship: Mogul Embassy (c) vs. Bullet Club Gold

Toa floors White with a chop to start. Toa puts White on the ropes in his corner and drives knees into the back of White. Outside-in senton by Kaun. One count. Superkick by Cage and a running European uppercut in the corner. Release German suplex to Austin and Nana is doing Nana things at ringside. Toa gets the tag and runs into a pair of boots, but a backstabber by Kaun who holds on to Austin, as Toa delivers a twisting elbow drop on Kaun’s knees! Two count. Kaun sends Austin into his corner and he sends everyone off the apron with clotheslines. Colten gets the tag and clears the ring with clotheslines and back elbows. Diving neckbreaker by Colten to Cage. Full Nelson slam to Kaun gets two. Colten hits the ropes but Toa appears out of nowhere with a pounce. Triple team powerbomb by Mogul Embassy. Air Raid Crash by Kaun gets a two after White breaks it up. White sends Cage face-first into the post on the outside as Toa misses a pounce and goes into the front row. Colten back body drops Kaun and White gets the tag, lighting up Kaun with heavy chops. High angle Uranage by Kaun. Discus lariat by Cage but the 3:10 to Yuma by The Gunns! Nana trips up White from the outside and Kaun hits the lungblower. Two count! Nana gets in the ring with the belt but Anthony Bowens makes the save! Two count as Kaun rolls him up from behind. Kaun looks for The Pedigree but White counters into Bladerunner and this one is over!

Winners and NEW Ring of Honor World Six-Man Tag Champs: Bullet Club Gold

Rating: ***1/2. This was a heck of a lot of fun. Mogul Embassy were great champions but the time was right to put the belts on the Bang Bang Gang. I can’t believe AEW (moreover, Jay White), got the fans to cheer the Gunn Club.

After the match, The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass stand on the stage in approval.

Adam Cole is with Wardlow. Wardlow will be unbeatable with the Undisputed Kingdom, and he will run over opponent after opponent until the world title is property of the UK. Boom.

Match #4. Deonna Purrazzo vs. Anna Jay

Toni Storm has joined the commentary table and we’re underway. Quick roll up by Purrazzo and a majistral by Jay. Both women trading elbows now as we go to PIP. Clotheslines by Purrazzo and a running knee to the face. Russian leg sweep by Purrazzo as she floats over looking for the crossface, but Jay counters with a roll up for two. Big boot by Purrazzo gets two. Storm is feeding Ian cake at ringside, by the way. Jay counters with a wrist-trapped side kick for two. Purrazzo rolls through a back body drop into a straight armbar but Jay gets to the ropes. Both women trading heavy rights as Jay looks for a clothesline by Purrazzo drags her to the mat by the arm, locks in the Fujiwara, and then grabs the far arm as well for the double armbar, or as she calls it, the Venis de Milo. Jay verbally taps!

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo

Rating: **. This was fine, and it served it’s purpose, but that was all it did. The match didn’t get much time and what time it had, was spent in PIP.

Renee hits the ring and Purrazzo says she doesn’t know what’s gotten into Storm. Storm and Purrazzo used to be like sisters, but Storm’s changed, and so has Purrazzo. Storm might have been friends with Deonna Purrazzo, but she’s never met the Virtuosa. Storm says Purrazzo is an artificially tanned hag and she should come in that ring and punch her in the box (wow), but Storm sends us to commercial instead.

Match #5. Private Party vs. Top Flight

Drop toe hold by Kassidy to Dante. Both guys go back and forth here as we have a stalemate. Back elbow by Kassidy and a tag to Quen. Quen tells Dante he’s going after the broken ankle, and does. Ankle pick and a foot lock to Dante. Kassidy gets the tag and flies in with a springboard crossbody. Double atomic drop/dropkick combo by Private Party. Dante is down in his corner as Quen charges but gets sent up and over and to the floor. Dante walks over Kassidy from the top to tag Darius. Swinging DDT/reverse DDT combo by Darius gets a two count. Atomic drop and back elbow combo by Top Flight. Two count by Dante. Snap mare by Darius and a straight armbar. Top Flight charges but Kassidy delivers a pair of boots. Quen gets the tag and delivers a suicide dive on the far side and a plancha on the near. Twisting plancha on the far side and a tope con hilo on the near side. Quen goes up top and hits the 450 on Dante! Two count. Rising knee by Dante and a tag to Darius. Bulldog over the bottom by Darius and an enziguiri. Bottom rope assisted flatliner by Dante. Two count. Quen gets popped up but hits a dropkick. Powerbomb into a knee by Dante. Corkscrew kick by Cassidy to Dante. Everyone is down. Gin & Juice to Dante! Darius makes the save but Quen rolls him up and grabs the rope to get the win

Winners: Private Party

Rating: **3/4. Fun to see Private Party back, and you can tell they were just getting their sea legs back, but the action was good for the most part. A little spotty, but I like Private Party gaining an identity as heels.

Match #6. AEW World Heavyweight Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Hook

Hook charges Joe early but Joe tosses him to the outside. Hook continues his barrage and dives off the barricade. Hook charges and Joe flattens him with a back elbow. Body blows by Joe and some hard strikes in the corner. Joe asks Hook if he understands yet… Hook fights up. Snap mare and a hard chop to the back of hook. Running boot and a senton by Joe. Two count. Hook tries a T-Bone but Joe drops him with an elbow. Overhand chops by Hook and a double leg. Ground and pound by Hook and a running clothesline to a seated Joe. Flying forearm off the apron by Hook. Hook tries a T-Bone into the announcer’s desk but Joe counters with a spinning Uranage and Hook lands HARD and high on the table! Joe asks Hook again, if he understands? Hook gives him the finger and Joe powerbombs him on the apron! Taz, Hook’s father, takes his headset off at this point. Joe waits in the ring as Doctor Sampson checks on Hook on the floor. Hook makes it in by the ten count and right into a snap powerslam by Joe! Two count. High angle Death Valley Driver by Joe! Another close two count. Joe sets Hook up on the rope… MUSCLE BUSTAAAHHH!! HOOK KICKS OUT AT ONE! HE’S HOOKING UP! Flying clothesline by Hook!  Three of them. Hook lays into the body of Joe and a T-Bone suplex! Hook can’t cover but he’s looking for the RedRum! Joe blocks it and tosses Hook, right into the Kokina Clutch. Hook is out!

Winner and STILL AEW World Heavyweight Champion: Samoa Joe

Rating: ***1/2. Man this ruled. Samoa Joe is a killing machine and this match was perfect for what it was. Hook put up an unbelievable fight and loses nothing in a loss. Hook proved he’s tough as nails.

Hook asks Joe if that’s all he’s got? Joe runs back in the ring, kicks Hook low, and then hits another Muscle Buster! Joe leaves but Hook calls him back again, and Joe says no problem.

Hangman Page is here! Joe runs off. Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana are here in the front row, too.

Final Thoughts: This felt like a big show tonight, due in a large part to three championship matches and a hot crowd that was alive all night. The Briscoe Brothers segment was far and away my favorite, for sentimental reasons of course, but aside from that… there was a lot to enjoy. The fans accept Joe as their champion and he brings legitimacy to the title. Christian got a heck of a match out of Dustin Rhodes, Bullet Club Gold continues their dominance, and the Toni Storm/Deonna Purrazzo match is taking shape nicely. The main event, with only roughly ten minutes, really close the show on a high note as the crowd was super lively the whole time. Great episode tonight. 8.75/10.
