Backstage Details On How WWE Is Able To Get Around Florida’s Stay At Home Order, Talents Unhappy With Return To Live Programming

It has been reported that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon decided to revert back to live programming from the Performance Center in Orlando despite the state of Florida issuing a stay-at-home order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. How are they able to get around this law that has shut-down all non-essential businesses?

According to Fightful Select, WWE issued a letter to their wrestlers and staff naming them as “essential media” in the case that they are ever approached by law enforcement. Television, radios, newspapers, and other media services are exempt from Florida’s order, which could explain how they’ve managed to continue pushing forward.

It is said that the talent backstage is unhappy with the decision to return to live programming as certain cities like Los Angeles have already extended the lockdown in response to the viral outbreak.
