AEW President Tony Khan has announced on Twitter that former women’s champion Britt Baker was not cleared to compete on this evening’s Dynamite due to illness and was pulled from action. The DMD was set to face Ruby Soho in the quarterfinal round of the Owen Hart tournament, which was a rematch from last year’s Owen Hart tournament finals. Khan adds that the match will now take place next week.
Khan writes, “Due to illness, 2022 Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Winner Dr. Britt Baker DMD isn’t cleared to wrestle tonight vs Ruby Soho. Ruby Soho will be in action tonight, + the 2023 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Quarterfinal Britt Baker vs Ruby Soho will take place next week.”
Baker’s partner, fellow AEW star Adam Cole, was also battling an illness that forced him to miss this past Sunday’s Forbidden Door 2 pay-per-view. Check out Khan’s tweet below.
