WWE currently has Charlotte Flair scheduled to appear at SummerSlam on Saturday, July 30 in Nashville.
Flair has been away since dropping the SmackDown Women’s Title to Ronda Rousey in the “I Quit!” match at WrestleMania Backlash on May 8. After that match, WWE announced that Flair suffered a broken arm and would be out of action indefinitely, but she was really written out of the storylines so she could get married to AEW star Andrade El Idolo. They tied the knot in Mexico on May 27.
Besides SummerSlam, Flair is only being advertised for the August 12 SmackDown from the PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC as of this writing. It should be noted that the venue is advertising Flair for this event, and not the WWE Events website, but it is an updated advertisement.
Flair traveled with her husband to last week’s AEW Dynamite in St. Louis, but she has not been backstage for any recent WWE events since WrestleMania Backlash.
There’s no word yet on if Flair will return before SummerSlam for the pay-per-view build, or perhaps during the big event as a surprise. It’s also possible that WWE brings her back before then, but there has been no recent talk of that happening.
Flair is staying in shape while away from the ring, and posted a new Instagram photo showing “progress” this week. She tagged Andrade and personal fitness instructor David Hernandez, and commented on her training state of mind right now.
“PROGRESS [folded hands emoji] @jimmycoachonline & @andradealmas (coaches [wink face emoji]) training my mind that it’s ok to eat more, rest more, & work harder [queen emoji] [fist emoji] #fitness #workfromhome #womenshealth,” she wrote, with the photo seen below.
On a related note, Flair and Andrade are in Miami this week doing a photo shoot for the Rockford Collection jeweler, for what looks to be their line of wedding rings. You can see photos and clips on her Instagram Story.
There is no word yet on when Flair will return to the WWE storylines, but we will keep you updated.
