WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler received severe backlash from the online wrestling community following an insensitive line on last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The King referred to Akira Tozawa’s top rope senton manuever as the “Ramen Noodle Moonsault” during his bout with NXT call-up Austin Theory. While Lawler was defended by the likes of Jim Cornette and a large portion of his Memphis fan base, Hulu decided to remove the line from their edited version of Raw, which usually drops on the streaming service the very next day.
Lawler has yet to issue a comment. Last night’s episode was his first appearance on Raw in several weeks following a drastic shift in programming due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
