IMPACT star Deonna Purrazzo spoke with SlamWrestling.Net to talk all things pro wrestling. Highlights from her interview can be found below.
On her WWE release and searching for happiness elsewhere:
For me, in the last six months leading up to that moment I questioned whether or not this was the right place for me. If there isn’t a direction for me, then maybe I shouldn’t be here. The conversation I had [with them was] ‘we know this is going to make you happy and we think that you wanted this so we’re going to give it to you.’ I was just like ‘yeah cool I’m going to find happiness somewhere else.
Fulfilling a childhood dream of wrestling on Monday Night Raw:
Last December, I wrestled Asuka on Raw and that was the first time I had gone up to the main roster. You can check that off the bucket list and if it never happens again, then I did it, you know?
Says she’s eyeing the IMPACT Knockouts championship:
I’m in a storyline right now with Jordynne Grace and the possibility [of winning the championship] is very high. I helped put Women of Honor back on the map, create a women’s championship and a women’s division there, but I was never the champion. Now that I’m at Impact, my goal is to become the champion and check that off the bucket list. Once you do it, you do it and who cares about anything else.
