Joe Hendry is a big fan of Kenny King.
The IMPACT star and current Digital Medial Champion spoke about King with Jim Varsallone from the Miami Herald ahead of their Slammiversary showdown this Saturday. To start, Hendry previews Slammiversary and says that it is going to be a true showcase for what IMPACT and the roster is capable of.
It’s a show for us. This is gonna be a showcase for what we do. The card is absolutely stacked from top to bottom. The fact that you have myself and Kenny King on the Countdown to Slammiversary shows you how stacked this show is gonna be. So you’re gonna have to tune in before Slammiversary to see what happens when Joe Hendry faces Stripper Kenny. It’s a huge honor and privilege to be the IMPACT Wrestling Digital Media Champion going into this event. It’s quite surreal for me, actually. I’ve been watching IMPACT Wrestling since 2002, 2003, so to be a part of this event is a huge deal for me.
Shifting subjects, Hendry calls King one of the most underrated talents in the industry today, adding that their matchup should be a terrific clash of styles.
We gotta be honest, Kenny King is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated professional wrestlers in the world today. His professionalism and consistency over such a long period of time is very overlooked and underrated in my view. I think Kenny King is one of the best wrestlers in the world, and I am one of the best entertainers in the world, so this is gonna be a very exciting contest.
