New Details On Drew Gulak’s WWE Departure, Was Reportedly Denied A Raise

News broke yesterday that SmackDown star Drew Gulak was finished with WWE following his contract expiring. Word was that the former NXT cruiserweight champion was in negotiations to re-sign, but there were no details on what he was asking for.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Gulak was seeking a raise from WWE higher-ups following his move to the main roster from 205 Live, a request that was ultimately denied. Reports are that WWE pulled their original contract offer, and all talks ceased from that point.

Since Gulak’s departure came due to a contract expiration, he is free to sign wherever he likes without the worry of a non-compete clause. His final WWE matcup was against Daniel Bryan on this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
