NJPW Star Returns From Injury and Issues Challenge For Junior Tag Titles

At this morning’s New Japan Cup Final rising star YOH shocked the fans in Sendai by making a surprise return, his first appearance since going down back in July with a torn ACL. The Roppongi 3K member immediately issued a challenge to current IWGP Junior tag team champions El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru in an attempt to reclaim the titles he and his partner SHO had to vacate once he got hurt.

NJPW has since issued the following press release on YOH’s return:

Fans in Xebio Arena Sendai got a huge surprise at the start of the New Japan Cup finals on March 21 when YOH appeared before his home prefecture crowd.

Absent since last July with a torn ACL, YOH addressed fans by saying that after his long absence, he will be back April 4. Sakura Genesis at Ryogoku will be the site of his return, and apparently the return of Roppongi 3K as a team. YOH stated that he and SHO want the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships they had to pass us as a result of the injury; will El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru accept the challenge at the spring spectacular?
