NJPW’s Parent Company Taking Huge Pay Cuts To Avoid Firing Anyone During COVID-19 Pandemic

According to the Wrestling Observer, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s parent company Bushiroad has made massive financial adjustments during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, including a pay cuts across the board that range from 15-95% from May through September. Reports are that this is being done so the company doesn’t have to fire anyone during the crisis, with expected bonuses also being cut in this time. Regular compensation is expected to return after the five month period.

The state of emergency issued in Japan is also coming to an end, opening up the door for promotions like NJPW to begin running empty arena shows on the path towards a returning audience.
