WWE Releases Drew Gulak

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE has released Drew Gulak from his contract. Speculation was that Gulak was done with the company once his profile got moved to the alumni section of the WWE roster page. He appeared on last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, losing to recent ally and partner Daniel Bryan in the first round of the Intercontinental title tournament.

Gulak joined WWE in 2016 following his debut in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. He is a former NXT cruiserweight champion and competed in the opening preshow bout of this year’s two night WrestleMania 36.

WWE has yet to make an official statement on the release.

Stay tuned.
