Matt Cardona alongside Steph De Lander made an appearance on Notsam Wrestling to discuss a wide range of topics.
During the podcast, Cardona was pitched the idea of wrestling Edge due to their history as Cardona was first used as an “Edgehead” along with Brian Myers (fka Curt Hawkins) in WWE.
“That was always a dream match of mine, still is,” Cardona said. “And when he had to retire, I thought it would never happen. Now he’s back, then I get fired. But there’s still time. Edge vs. Matt Cardona, not Edge vs. Zack Ryder. Zack Ryder’s f***ing dead.”
Cardona gave Edge credit for giving him an opportunity early on, something he’s currently doing for De Lander.
“I open the door for [De Lander] just like Edge opened the door for me,” he said. “Now I’m gonna shut it in his f***ing face and reboot [him] right to Hell. I would absolutely love that.”
