An update on one of AEW’s fastest rising stars, Daniel Garcia.
Garcia’s current contract with AEW is set to expire this fall, which would make him a free agent in the competitive wrestling market at just 26-years-old. However, a new report has shed some light on what Garcia might do next. According to Fightful Select, the belief is that Garcia will be sticking around AEW, with one source telling the publication that they believe he has already re-signed, but that is not confirmed.
It is noted in the report that the source in AEW said that Garcia’s future “would likely come into focus soon.” He is set to challenge Will Ospreay for the International Championship on at this evening’s Beach Break in Chicago.
Garcia previously tried out for WWE in 2021, and wrestled on NXT television based on his tryout. He’s been heavily utilized in AEW over the past few years, and is a former one-time ROH Pure Champion.
