Japan’s state of emergency in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is finally being lifted. The lockdown has drastically effected the pro-wrestling industry, with New Japan Pro Wrestling canceling all events through June 6th. Other promotions like AJPW, Dragon Gate, and Pro Wrestling NOAH have been running the occasional empty arena show during the lockdown.
According to Super J-Cast, the monthly plan for Japan’s restrictions will include venues to run up to 50% capacity (up to 5,000) by mid-July, and 50% of a venue’s maximum capacity by August.

In another light of good news…Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball league has been approved to begin its season on June 19th.
