NBA Finals Takes #1 Spot from WWE SmackDown After 3 Months, Viewership for the Post-Clash of Champions Episode

NBA Finals Takes #1 Spot from WWE SmackDown After 3 Months, Viewership for the Post-Clash of Champions Episode

Friday’s live edition of WWE SmackDown, featuring WWE Clash of Champions fallout with Sami Zayn retaining the WWE Intercontinental Title over Jeff Hardy in the main event, drew an average of 2.155 million viewers on FOX, according to Showbuzz Daily.

 
  
 

This final number is up from the overnight viewership that was released on Saturday morning, which was an average of 2.043 million viewers. This number is also up from last week’s final SmackDown viewership of 2.110 million viewers for the Clash of Champions go-home show.

Friday’s SmackDown drew a 0.6 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, a 0.7 rating in the 25-54 demo, and a 0.3 rating in the 18-34 demographic. Last week’s episode drew a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demo, a 0.8 rating in the 25-54 demo, and a 0.3 rating in the 18-34 demographic.

The NBA Finals on ABC dominated network TV on Friday night, knocking SmackDown from their #1 spot in the key 18-49 demographic. SmackDown held that top spot for more than 3 straight months.

SmackDown tied for #2 in ratings for the key 18-49 demographic on network TV this week, after 13 straight weeks at #1, tying with NBA Countdown on ABC. The NBA Finals on ABC topped the night in the key demo with a strong 2.4 rating. SmackDown tied for #3 in the 18-34 demo this week with four other shows, behind NBA Countdown at #2 and the NBA Finals game at #1 with a strong 2.0 rating. SmackDown tied for #2 in the 25-54 demo with three other shows, after two weeks at #1, behind the NBA Finals game at #1 with a strong 2.7 rating. SmackDown came in at #8 for the night in viewership on network TV. The NBA Finals on ABC dominated the night on network TV in viewership this week with 6.609 million viewers.

The MLB Wild Card Series game on ESPN at 7pm topped the night on the Cable Top 150 with a 0.59 rating in the 18-49 demographic, drawing. Tucker Carlson Tonight on FOX News topped the night in cable viewership with 5.059 million viewers, ranking #5 on the Cable Top 150 with a 0.48 rating in the key demo.
