AEW President Tony Khan responded to a fan on Twitter who questioned whether he took any part in producing storylines, or if he just approved high concept ideas. Khan writes, “No, not at all. I’m deep in the weeds. I write shows, lay out a large % of the stories, approve any and every segment that goes on the air, and I don’t just sit around and wait for people to pitch ideas to me.”
Later a different fan chimed in on the thread in an attempt to find out the timeline of when Khan started taking more part in creative. The 37-year old revealed that he and AEW bookers made an effort to have a much sharper focus going into the new year. He says, “That’s a good observation, and yes, had to do a lot of reflection over the holidays to go into 2020 with a better and more organized process. And thank you very much for the kind words btw.”
