IMPACT star Heath (fka Heath Slater) issued a statement on his Instagram earlier today updating fans on his condition following an injury suffered at the Bound For Glory pay per view. It was previously reported that the One Man Band had suffered a hernia, with speculation that he might have needed surgery.
Luckily Heath says that surgery can be avoided, but he will be sidelined for a bit dealing with the pain. He writes, “This is the moment I knew I was screwed. After two doctors telling me that my injury was a severe inguinal hernia, I made an appointment with a hernia specialist. OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS: partially torn abductor muscle (from the bone) and a slight tear in my groin. RECOVERY: luckily no surgery, just gotta suck it up and deal with the pain for a while. Lots of rest, ice, physical therapy (I’m coming for you).”
The injury occurred during the Call Your Shot gauntlet match, which Heath was scheduled to win prior to getting hurt. Instead the call was made on the spot to have Rhino go over, which played into IMPACT’s storyline and officially gave Heath a contract with the promotion.
