NJPW star Hikuleo recently sat-down with Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful for an in-depth interview covering his career. The interview will drop at some point in the next few days but Fightful Select has released several notes from the chat, which includes confirmation of Hikuleo speaking with a major company.
According to the report, Hikuleo did have talks with WWE at the beginning of the year and that he weighed his options about leaving NJPW. The former STRONG Openweight Champion said that the speculation of him leaving added to his Loser Leaves Japan match at New Year’s Dash back in January.However, he felt like NJPW was where he was supposed to be.
When he saw the rumors of WWE interest online he was worries he leaked info. he shouldn’t have. Sapp later told Hikuleo that it was WWE who put that news out there.
