There was speculation that Sarah Logan was supposed to return to Raw less than one week after being released from the WWE. As it turns out, this was true up until minutes before the show actually aired. Logan was written in the script to appear in one or two segments, but she was removed at the last second. No reason has been given for the change at this time.
Even though she wasn’t used, her name was still dropped throughout the show to build up Shayna Baszler’s new gimmick of breaking arms to win matches. WWE also noted that she was out of action to recover from her injury and did not mention the release.
Several wrestlers who were released are expected to still be used due to their 90 day clauses in their contract. Most wrestlers are still being paid their downside guarantees despite being released, and therefore WWE has the option to continue using them. Drake Maverick is among the names of superstars still scheduled to make appearances during his 90 days to compete in NXT’s cruiserweight tournament as advertised.
