Ilja Dragunov is finally a world champion in NXT, and doesn’t plan on leaving that spot anytime soon.
The Russian superstar spoke about capturing the NXT Championship and preparing to defend it against Carmelo Hayes at Halloween Havoc during a recent interview with Haus of Wrestling. Dragunov promises to not only remain champion, but that he will give Hayes the nightmare of his life when they wrestle for the third-time this year.
It is something that doesn’t surprise me too much because you just need to look at our first two performances together, our two big fights we had together, the people were astounded. The entire audience are witnesses to moments they probably won’t forget for the rest of their life, so he’s obviously an amazing talent, but again I replied [about] this on social media, it’s going to be a nightmare he won’t forget for the rest of his life. So, we can fight again, but this championship is never gonna leave my hands.
Dragunov captured the NXT Championship from Hayes at the No Mercy premium live event 24 days ago. He has one successful defense over Dominik Mysterio. Check out his full interview below.
