Friday’s live edition of WWE SmackDown drew an average of 2.207 million viewers on FOX, according to Nielsen, via Showbuzz Daily.
This final number is down 12.93% from the previous week’s final viewership of 2.535 million viewers.
Friday’s SmackDown drew a 0.54 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. This is down 12.90% from the previous week’s 0.62 rating. This past week’s 0.54 key demo rating represents 704,000 18-49 viewers, which is down 14.04% from the 819,000 18-49 viewers that the previous week’s 0.62 key demo rating drew, according to Wrestlenomics.
SmackDown ranked #1 in ratings for the key 18-49 demographic on network TV, even with the previous week’s #1 ranking, and the ten weeks before that. SmackDown ranked #2 in the 18-34 demo this week, down from the previous week’s #1 ranking. SmackDown ranked #1 in the 25-54 demo, even with the previous week’s #1 ranking, and the thirteen weeks before that. SmackDown came in at #7 for the night in viewership on network TV, which is down from the previous week’s # 4ranking. While SmackDown topped the night on network TV in the key demographic, Price Is Right on CBS topped the night in viewership with 3.696 million viewers, also drawing a 0.32 key demo rating.
Friday’s SmackDown drew the fifteen-highest total audience of the year so far, and is tied with February 18 for the ninth-highest key demo rating of the year so far. Sports competition from Friday night included two College Football games on ESPN, Liga MX on TUN, and a MLB Network game. Friday’s viewership was down 12.93% from the previous week’s episode, while the key demo rating was down 12.90% from the previous week’s episode.
Viewership for Friday’s SmackDown episode was down 2% from the same week in 2021, while Friday’s 18-49 key demo rating was down 12.90% from the same week in 2021. The 2021 episode was the Draft Night 1 and post-Extreme Rules show.
The Washington vs. UCLA College Football game on ESPN topped the night on the Cable Top 150 with a 0.56 key demo rating, also drawing 1.704 million viewers. The Five on FOX News topped the night on cable in viewership with 3.127 million viewers, also drawing a 0.18 key demo rating.
Friday’s SmackDown aired live from the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, with the following line-up advertised ahead of time – Bayley vs. Shotzi, Hit Row vs. Los Lotharios, Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn vs. Ricochet and Madcap Moss. The main event ended up being Kevin Owens, Johnny Gargano and Drew McIntyre defeating Austin Theory and Alpha Academy.
